Texas Real Estate License and Continuing Education Requirements

In order to obtain a real estate license in Texas, you must first complete six 30-hour pre-licensing courses: Principles of Real Estate I, Principles of Real Estate II, Law of Agency, Law of Contracts, Real Estate Finance and Promulgated Contract Forms – for a total of 180 credit hours.

Within the first two years of having your Texas real estate license, you are required to finish a total of 90 hours of Salesperson Apprentice Education (SAE) courses and two, separate 4-hour Legal Update courses. RettSchool Online and VanEd have all the online courses you need to meet the Texas real estate license education requirements and pass the Texas Salesperson's licensing exam. All of our online real estate courses meet the 2018 TREC Standards and are ARELLO approved!

Texas real estate licensees are also mandated to complete a total of 18 hours of continuing education (CE) courses every two-year period. Additionally, a broker who sponsors sales agents, the broker of a business entity, or a sales agent who delegated superviorsor of one or more license holders for six months or more during the current license cycle is also required to complete a 6-hour broker repsonsibility course included in their 18-hour CE requirement.

All of our online Texas real estate license courses are supported by instructors to help you master the material.
